Since 2021, India Association of Minnesota (IAM) has been bringing Pink Garba, an interactive and informative breast cancer awareness event to the women of South Asian Community. The plan with IAM foraying into this space has been to eventually expand into other forms of cancer that commonly affects the South Asian populace in Minnesota.

South Asians largely consider these diseases to be a taboo and refrain from discussing them out in the open. The idea of this event is to bring these conversations in the open, with a goal of educating the community about the preventative measures available for these types of cancers and the care support they can avail from within the community and the medical fraternity.

This year, IAM is bringing this event in the form of a fundraising concert. Several talented local artists are coming together and volunteering their time and talent to raise the funds for Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund. The concert will feature some melodies from the 1990s Bollywood movies, which will take you down the memory lane of the younger days of the Millenials and Gen Z members of our community.

So, mark your calendars! Join us for this fundraiser event.

When: Saturday, Oct 26th, from 4pm to 7pm

Where: Olson Middle School, 4551 W 102nd St, Bloomington, MN 55437

Register for your tickets here, click on the QRcode in the flyer or go to https://iamn.org/event/cancer-awareness-event/.
