" Many people often assume that learning mental arithmetic is merely a method to improve the speed and accuracy of calculations, for example adding 8 digit number or multiplying and dividing 5 digit * 3 digit numbers within a few seconds. When the children have acquired an astonishing calculation speed, it is actually only the end result of having developed concentration, observation, visualization, imagination and memory."

WHY "ABACI"?

ABACUS BASED ARITHMETIC PROGRAMS:

"ABACUS" system of calculation is an ancient and proven system of doing calculations. It is an excellent concept that provides for overall "Mental Development of a child" while teaching the basics of big four (Addition, Subtraction, multiplication and Division) of arithmetic.

TRADITIONAL MATHS PROGRAMS: 

Programs based on traditional math incorporate use of work sheets to REPEATEDLY PRACTICE the same concept till the kid becomes proficient. They have to memorize the numbers continuously and they become prone to make mistakes. They are dependent on paper and pencil to deal with big & multiple numbers. This creates LOSS OF CONFIDENCE and FEAR OF MATHS in the mind of the kids.   

Traditional tutoring program are normally run by  associates as instructors where the basic job is limited to issuing and checking the worksheets and keeping track of scores and points. Mostly the DEDICATION IS MISSING AND NO PASSION IS INVOLVED. The kids are not accountable for time spent in the class as the worksheets can be carried home and brought back for correction in next session. In most programs kids cannot retain the worksheets for reference and must be returned. With the development of new techniques and systems these programs are becoming obsolete now.

"ABACI" is based on ABACUS system of calculations with all the advantages of ABACUS based program. The program is designed to teach the Big Four of arithmetic on abacus system keeping in mind the practicality of the numbers. The program is structured to incorporate word & story problems, and topics related to school curriculum. The kids get an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills to school system and learn school curriculum.

The program is run by trained instructors who have passion for the program and believe in it. We run 2 hrs sessions that allows kids to settle down and concentrate in their work at a stretch. There is no repetition as kids are learning new concept regularly and keep their interest in the program. The program is self paced and avoids frustration and stress. IT'S A FUN PROGRAM.

Our program has developed due to referrals of satisfied parents. When parents feel the improvements in their kids and believe in the program they talk to their friends.

-We provide 8 hrs of quality tutoring per month for fee charged. Long sessions reduce commuting time for parents.

-We understand that parents may have to travel overseas on vacation and we do not charge any fee during 4 week plus      vacation or for re-registration.

-We work with parents / kids and are available to personally attend to their needs.

HOW IT WORKS?

"Right Brain has high speed and, high capacity mechanism. Left brain processes information sequentially whereas right brain processes information very quickly as images of pictures."

About 90% of us use only left brain, which is but a conventional brain. Left brain controls Language, Logic, Numbers and Words, whereas usage of right brain enhances mental & creative skills as it controls Imagination, Music, Patterns and Images. ABACI Program helps to develop the synergy of the right and left brain activities resulting in an overall brain development.

Children are trained to use the right brain with the use of "ABACUS".

WHAT ARE THE TOOLS USED IN THE PROGRAM AND HOW DO THEY HELP?

ABACI system uses an ancient tool "ABACUS". Initially, kids use the hands to manipulate the beads in the "ABACUS" to work on the problems. Gradually, the "ABACUS is taken away, and the children "visualize" an "IMAGINARY ABACUS" to perform the manipulation of the beads mentally. This process helps the child to develop "MULTIPLE SKILLS" like photographic memory, improved imagination, enhanced observation skills, total concentration and, exceptional analytical skills. It ultimately, helps the child to restore self reliance and confidence and removes the fear of math.

It is a proven fact that 75% to 80% of human brain is developed from birth to the age of 12 years.

HOW DOES HIS PROGRAM RELATE TO SCHOOL CURRICULUM?

We have now provided a "link" between ABACI program and School Curriculum to help the kids apply the knowledge of this program to school math. The program helps kids to prepare for NWEA ( North West Evaluation Association) programs and tests taken by kids in school like MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) & MCA ( Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment)

HOW WILL PROGRAM HELP MY CHILD IN HIS/HER FUTURE DEVELOPMENT?

It is the "SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST" in this era of cut throat "Global Competition." The child has to go through a fierce competition at every stage, be it school, university, and job market or biz world. The child has to undergo various competitive exams like ACT, SAT, GMAT, GRE, M-CAT, L- SAT to be able to get admissions in to a "Niche Program". Standards of evaluating the skills of candidates are being updated and, are becoming unachievable by a normal child, putting him under tremendous pressure for performance.

Most competitive exams are based on Concentration and Analytical skills. The speed and accuracy are the keywords.
